3.0 out of 5 stars Pigeon bible?, 10 Oct 2002
I bought this book as an introduction to the sport of pigeon racing. The information is there in the text but you have to read it cover to cover to get it out. The book is virtually written as a novel with masses of anecdotes, little bits of pigeon racing history, warnings and tips all thrown in together. It will come as no surprise that the author is (was?) a journalist - it could be mistaken for a selection from a sheaf of Sunday paper articles.
As a book to read in bed it probably makes it. As a reference source it plainly does not. Be prepared with a pen and paper handy if you want to mine the gems out of this book.
