Synopsis
In 1927 the Scottish architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh wrote a series of letters to his wife, the artist Margaret Macdonald. These he dubbed 'The Chronycle'. The letters are published here for the first time, in a fully annotated edition, edited by the leading Mackintosh scholar, Pamela Robertson. The letters provide a moving insight into the Mackintoshes' loving relationship and their final years together. They also provide rare insight into Mackintosh's process and ambitions as an outstanding watercolour painter.
