As this is the main book on Poole Pottery it is ok for the novice collector, not so good though for those who need a more in depth knowledge on the subject, many of the important Factory backstamps and Artist marks are not featured, there are some inconsistancies in the information contained in this book. There is also quite a few patterns and shapes missing too. The r.r.p of £45.00 is too high, which is probably why Amazon is selling it for £31.50, The only good thing really about this book is that it does have the majority of backstamps so you can at least date/identify 99% of the items that Poole Pottery have made.

Being new to the world of collecting poole pottery I was relieved to find such an informative book with great photographic content and historical information which has led me to appreciate these works of art even more. There are not many books I wouldn't part with but this will definitely be one of them as it reads like a great art book should and will always be enjoyed for its visual delights if nothing else. Thankyou Leslie!

Excellent historical record and photos to help new commers like myself to collecting Poole. Especially good section on the Delphis range (my favourite).
