The majority of this book is devoted to providing a comprehensive survey of evidence for the survival of the human spirit and psychic phenomena. It encompasses a broad range of topic areas from reincarnation through automatic writing to obsession. So far a job well done! Roy is an objective and open-minded commentator on these subjects considering a range of possible explanations.
Unfortunately I was not quite so enthusiastic about the psychological model he presents in the final couple of chapters by way of explanation for the possibility of such phenomena/communication. Perhaps it's me that's missing something here...? Despite the diagrams I found this hard to keep up with and a little opaque - nebulous even. I didn't find the computer analogy or the concept of the I Brain that ease to digest. A personal preference, or due to a gap in my own understanding of the related scientific areas perhaps,... but I find some of the theories of material physicists little more easier to handle and more convincing.
Nevertheless this is a scholarly and sincere work.
