1.0 out of 5 stars Not recommended, 9 Sep 2003
Having seen this book, given the chance again I would certainly not buy it.
It is a very small book, originally published in 1974 and has the feel of one of many books published at the time which were trying to cash in on the kung fu boom. But it is a waste of time. It is a tiny book, smaller than A5 I think and 96 pages, which include a handful of blanks at the end.
The short history section at the beginning tells you very little. This is followed by pictures of a few hand positions and stances which are fine. The bulk of the book then shows a form in which it is virtually impossible to see what it is going on as the practitioner's black clothes blend seamlessly into the black background of trees. Just a bad choice of photo opportunity and bad printing which almost certainly makes the pictures worse.
Another brief section at the end shows some applications but these are of the most basic kind.
I definitely would not recommend buying this book. If you want to learn something about a form from a book then buy one where you can actually see what is going on.
