This little book will pay for itself in your first few days on the piste. It gives you the correct theory and best practice on how to prepare your snow equipment, and it is simple and easy to follow. I would like to see a little more on the merits of various ski repair methods and tools, but this is still an excellent introduction. I used these techniques to check and re-wax my own skis and blades most evenings for six intensive weeks on the piste over a couple of years without having to pay for a single service. Of course I had to buy tools and waxes, but I guess so far it has saved me maybe over a hundred pounds and ensured top quality skiing every day.
