3.0 out of 5 stars a very ineresting way of teaching this form, 14 Dec 2001
this book is devided into two stages, one half showing the actual actions of the form and then on every other page there is a demonstration of how to put the movements into practice. it comes compleate with photos and instructions on every page, however i feel that the book could have done with more infomation on the strength and speeds that the actions require as this is missed out in this book. Oh, and a warning to all buyers, there are over 100 tiger forms with in the world of kung fu, make shour this is the one that you are actualy after

3.0 out of 5 stars A helping hand in learning the form, 2 Dec 2001
By A Customer
This book is a good guide-line to the form 'tiger and crane'. It shows indepth uses of the movements and guides you through the form well. The main draw back is that sometimes it's hard to know the exact movements and this will certainly mean that further guidance from your sui foo will be necessary for a complete mastery.
Overall very useful and will, at the very least, half the time needed to learn the form.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great introduction to the famous Hung Gar Kung Fu system., 21 Mar 2001
By Andy Bogard (Milton Keynes, England) - See all my reviews
This book contains all the moves of the famous Tiger and Crane form/kata of the Hung Gar system of kung fu.

There are hundreds of photos detailing each of those moves. Moves of the tiger(the use of the hand as a tiger claw) and crane(hand imitating the crane wing and beak)are the nucleus of this form. There are also details photos of application of these moves in combat.

However, I feel that there are a few improvements that can be made to this book. For one it should include basic conditioning methods used to condition the tiger claw and crane beak techniques to make them more destructive on execution.
