This work presents the work of 60 artists who have combined craft and art with the glamour of haute couture. 170 garments - each the product of intensive labour - are featured. The author established the first gallery devoted to clothing as an art form in 1973. The gallery is located in New York City.

Julie captures the essence of the beautifully photographed Art to Wear pieces; here the pieces are photographed clearly so you can see in the art pieces the materials and designs. Captured is the feeling looking at the model what it is like to wear the cloak, mask, sweater, and many more kinds of Art to Wear pieces. The text by each artist accompanying their work is very inspiring expressing their growth and creativity. Not a How to Book; this book shows how it has been done and is a celebration of creativity.
