5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and Complete... though choosing which one to buy was confusing..., 27 Aug 2006
I play guitar, but I was more than a tad confused on which of these books to buy (at first). It seems that the reviews go up on the pages for the guitar, easy guitar, bass, and drum tab pages, so it was quite confusing as they all seemed to imply that they are all bass books. So, to clear up any confusion, the guitar book is the one that doesn't say anything more than the name of the album.

Onto the review... not only is this for one of my favourite albums, but the tabs and standard notation are brilliantly accurate; I haven't yet found a mistake. I was even surprised to see that included was the very quite bit of solo right at the end of 'Enter Sandman'.
Most of the solos in here are very hard to play, so you have to keep working at them, but most of the catchy riffs are quite easy, so this book should provide a lot of fun.
(A lot of the solos have wah-wah, so to play them properly, you will need an FX pedal of some sort)

4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable way to progress with the bass guitar, 19 Mar 2001
The black album represented a change in direction in the musical life of the metallica bass player Jason Newsted. After the disappointing bass lines on ..And Justice For All (good or not, it's impossible to hear them), the black album is a vast improvement. These generally simple bass lines give the improving Bass player plenty to get his teeth into, while at the same time showing how the 'less is more' approach to bass playing can be so effective. And just in case this simple approach puts you off buying the book, there are a couple of 'party pieces' contained here that the aspiring bass player can learn to impress friends i.e My Friend of Misery and Where Ever I May Roam.----An excellent book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great bass book for a great album!, 21 Feb 2004
By Mark (Hertfordshire) - See all my reviews
This book is the first book that I have bought. It has been exceedingly helpful in improving my playing. I would recomend this book to any bass player, no matter how long they have been playing for. I have no reason to believe that there are any mistakes and it is very accurate. If you decide to buy this book, I hope you enjoy it.
