Excellent book, 26 Jan 2003

The tabs in this book are 100% accurate. Buy it if you're a fan of Metallica or just a regular guitar player. However the only negtive is that the tabs can sometimes be confusing. The other negative is that these Metallica tabs are damn hard to play, the speed and accuracy invloved is incredible, I don't know how James and Kirk do it, but it is an excellent tab book and one for the greatest albums of all time, buy it if you want to.

MASTER OF PUPPETS!!!!!, 30 Mar 2004

WOW what an awesome book!i didnt really know what to expect, whether the tabs would be detailed or not, which i tell you they are, all details are there (I shant think twice about ordering the ride the lightening book). If anyone has ever bought guitar magazines featuring metallica songs they usually only tell you what the lead guitar is doing, and not the rhythm, which for metallica can sometimes mean that you cant play particular parts right with only one guitar, like the twin lead solo in master of puppets when the two guitars play different notes that harmonise together, when played with the main part alone it just doesn't sound quite right, this is tabbed in full here, this is also good if you are in a band and want to do cover songs, and need the music for both lead and rhythm guitars. RIGHT the songs themselves. it features all 8 tracks from the classic master of puppets album, which is considered by most their best, for me it is also, with classic songs like; battery, welcome home (sanitarium, and of course the AWESOME title track it has it all it truly is metallica at there best. all are tabbed in full here. The full list of tracks include: Battery, Master of Puppets, The thing that should not be, Welcome home(sanitarium), Disposable Heroes, Leper Messiah, Orion(instrumental), and Damage Inc. all of which are jam packed with crunching riffs, and break neck solos from kurk hammett who is considered one of the fastest and best players in the world, so learning the solos can take a bit of work, but percivere and you will be loved and adored by all that know you! I would say you have to be a pretty capable guitarist to pull off some of the stuff contained in this book, so i would say this is not a great idea for beginners, at least not the solos, but the riffs alone may merrit puchasing it for some. if you love the album, and want to learn its songs, i should say you cant really go wrong with this, so in other words BUY IT! Also hats off to the guys who worked all this out, also.........METALLICA RULE!!

Warm up those fingers, it's time to learn some music, 15 Jun 2001

Having been a fan of the music for a long time (Kirk was the reason that I started to play guitar) I thought I'd give playing it a go. All I have to say thank god for tabulature! I had many hours of fun trying to play the Master of Puppets solo with my guitar teacher, who was usually hung over when teaching me (thanks for that!). Being a cocky teenager at the time (some eight years ago) I reckoned that there was nothing that I couldn't play. Oh how the folly of youth can be dispelled quickly! This book helped me with my own writing, as did the Ride the Lightning book. Just a shame that my band didn't last long enough to try any of them out..... All praise has to go out to the person who worked out how to play these songs. I don't know how they do it, but my hat goes off to them. Good work!
