As a professional astrologer, whenever I did relationship compatibility charts, the deciding factor was whether or not the Taoist animal signs were compatible. Most clients knew little about the Taoist system, so I wrote a pamphlet about the animal signs. When I taught Goddess Spirituality classes, students were interested in learning their animal totems. (A simple way to know your animal totem is through your Taoist animal sign based on your birth year.) The students were so excited about the twelve animal signs that they asked me to write a book.
In 1992 I started to write TAOIST ASTROLOGY with Jean Tang in response to my students' enthusiasm. I began with important historical background about the development of 5,000 years of Chinese culture as influenced by Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. I wrote extensively about each of the twelve animal signs and included detailed information about the five Taoist elements. I have been a student of traditional Chinese medicine since 1983, which is how I learned five element theory. I chose to write to the highest common denomimator to inspire intelligent discussion and reflection.
I started college as an Asian Studies major at age 17, and 25 years later I am blessed to be writing and teaching on the sacred art and science of Taoist astrology. After 5,000 years, Westerners are realizing the value of wisdom from the East.
