I would give this book five stars for the info and three for the layout.

The herbal remedies discussed here are very useful, starting with the info on what herbs to use for cleaning your house and what kind of indoor plants to use to purify the air you're breathing. The herbal remedies on skin care and several health issues can be found in most herbal books. However, I thought that the chapter about cleansing was very interesting, as it leads to a cure (prevention, actually) for the common cold.

A note: Despite the title, and although it's written by a witch, spellcrafting is not discussed in this book. At least not in the usual way...

A great book for those who want basic herbal remedies, 12 Dec 2000

Herbalism is something I have always been interested in, but I find that many books dealing with the subject involve themselves with in depth madical terminology and it is easy to get lost on the way. The Green Witch is excellent because it gives simple herbal remedies that would have probably been used by the traditional village wise woman or witch. I also liked the fact that included in the book are household herbal recipes for hygiene and perfumes etc. That sort of information I have found quite hard to come by. My only criticism of this book would be to say that the use of the word witch in the title is misleading, As the book deals with herbalism rather than witchcraft and although the two subjects are closely connected, there is no mention of the practise of witchcraft in the book.

I found thie information in this to be great. Lots of ideas and recipes for herbal and natural medicines and uses round the home. However the layout made the book hard going. It could have been done in a much more accessable way.
