2.0 out of 5 stars See which?, 11 May 2006
By Somnambulist (Manchester, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Seawitch (Mass Market Paperback)
The book on the whole is an average, throwaway holiday read. Its one saving grace is the development of the two main charcter groups i.e. goodies and baddies, and the skill with which MacLean sways your empathies for both throughout.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of my favourites, 17 Jun 2004
This review is from: Seawitch (Mass Market Paperback)
everyone mentions the pre-1970 maclean books, but ignores,or critcizes the one after 1971, which is unfair as the 70s maclean yarns are just as great, probavly even more amusing, sure, the narrative is more talky and less character motivated, but they are still entertaining, and Seawith is entertaining and is paced well with great light banter between the two leads. and good climax at the end that never wavers.

This review is from: Seawitch (Paperback)
The story of a massive oil-rig, the Seawitch, and its ruthless billionaire owner Lord Worth. Worth cares for nothing and no-one except his two high-spirited daughters. When he humiliates John Cronkite, oilman and troubleshooter, the scene is set for a high-action drama of revenge.
