5.0 out of 5 stars A first class book especially for a beginer like myself., 2 Mar 2001

Catherine Anderson covers a wide range of issues that crop up very early on when one is trying to get into watercolours. She uses a series of questions and answers coupled with good pictures to achieve a relaxed but informative style. The book begins by looking at materials; papers, brushes, paints, but Catherine quickly moves onto how to use them. There is a great section at the back where she uses mistakes she has made in the past and how she has transformed them into some very good waterclours, there's hope for us all. Most of all she keeps the enjoyment right up there in front, all in all a great book.
