I have been homeschooling my children for two years now and thought that this book would answer a lot of my questions e.g. How to find the time for everything etc. It answered none of them because the recommendation for getting housework done etc. is to employ a live in maid to do it for you! The book never really gets to grips with the real issues of teaching your children at home and the difficulties that we all face on a day to day basis. The part about how many spanks the child gets for each type of bad behaviour is not funny, it's just a bad solution to a problem that all parents face, teaching at home or not. If you are teaching your children at home and could do with some motivation and a few pointers to keep you going through the dull patches (we all get them), this book will not answer your questions. Except of course if you can afford full time live in help!

It is difficult to continue reading this book once you have read her section recommending the 'paddling' of children for various levels of unacceptable behaviour........ she has a chart which stipulates how many whacks the child can expect to recieve in line with their behaviour problem...... Is this actually legal???????? A very off putting inclusion!!!!

One of the funniest books I have ever read., 4 Aug 1996

This book is hilarious. Whether you are a newbie or an
experienced homeschooler, this is a must read. It deals
with the practical side of homeschooling. Things like
making them do it & how to keep the house clean in the
midst of all the chaos. They also have excellent information
on choosing curriculum & scheduling your school day. These
women really know what they are talking about. Loved it!!!
