2.0 out of 5 stars Ladies' Bane, 9 May 2009
This has all the ingredients for a great Miss Silver mystery. Nightmarish beginning with a woman lost in the fog overhearing a sinister plot, she then goes to stay with her estranged family who live in a creepy house. Perfect for hiding a few bodies in or for trapping the heroine as she uncovers the truth. Unfortunately there is something rather tired about it as if Wentworth lost interest in the plot. The climax doesn't even take place in the creepy house. No bodies are found in it nor heroine trapped in it. This isn't one of Wentworth's best mysteries.
