4.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny, 21 Feb 2002
You may think this book seems a bit expensive. But believe me the quality of it is worth every penny. The content examines the real life history of some of marvels most famous creations including spiderman and the x-men. Each section looks at their best moments and the trasitions from comic to the media, e.g. T.V and movies. All this and it's done in an interesting way that just pulls you in and wont let go. The best Marvel related read I've had in a long time

1.0 out of 5 stars Huge disappointment., 9 Jun 2005
By A Customer
I've been into comics all my life. As I got older I naturally stopped buying but when Frank Miller first released 'Dark Knight returns' I got hooked again.
I saw this book on Amazon and felt I had to buy it.
I opened the package, flipped through it...and sent it straight back.
Basically it's a run down on every marvel Comic character that's ever made it to TV or a Movie.
I remember Bill Bixby's 'Hulk' and i even saw 'Captain America' and Dr. strange' in the 70's (awful!!!!)..but i don't want to read about them. I wanted details about graphic novels amd comics.
It looks flash, great cover etc. but the content made me cringe. I sent it back...that should tell you .
