It is in dying that we sometimes learn to live.
So often people would ask me how I could work at a hospice. Wasn't it depressing, draining, awful. I found through my interactions with patients and staff that while it was sad it was also inspiring and beautiful. Death is a beginning not an end. For me I met so many special, heroic, loving, honest people in their dying process and I wanted to share this. In my presentations I always stated that if humanity lived as our dying patients were living and our staff responding, the world would be a much better place. This book gives an insight into the strength of the human spirit - a revelation that we are more than a physical form.
