5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely,small Tarot deck, 27 Jul 2005
By A Customer
Excellent tarot deck for anyone who read and loved the Alice books. The playing stock size makes it easy to shuffle for people with small hands(like me).The pictures are not cutsey, and as soon as you get used to flamingoes for swords, peppermills for wands, hats for cups, and oysters for coins, the reading of this deck is easy and fun.
I happen to know that the Rev.Dodgeson had some occult interests, like many intelligent people of his days, and I can't find this deck disrespectful in any way.

1.0 out of 5 stars A major let down. A very nice idea poorly executed., 11 May 1999
By A Customer
I was impressed with the existing reviews of this pack and order two copies (I am a keen player of tarot games - they've been used for this at least four hundred years before anyone thought of trying to tell the future with them - ...the French game is still very popular in Europe, but the Slovenian is the best.). I had to return them! They are very poorly executed, the art is of the kind found in cheep children's colouring books and a very poor homage to any of the famous artists who have tackled Caroll.

There is also some question as to whether this pack should have been produced at all. Certainly, for the purpose of playing games, the Rev. Dodgson would have approved. But for divination (and some of the disigns do incorporate some modern occult symbolism) he would surely be turning in his grave! I cannot feel that this is very respectful. It is a shame that this has not been a consideration in other cases also (Tolkein and Blake would also be most unhappy!).
