Key features are: thinking on treatment of unstable ankles, with emphasis on conservative treatment and preventive measures; step-by-step procedural descriptions of four operations and extensive discussion of arthroscopic reconstruction; and thorough discussion of the role of physical therapists and other allied health professionals in the treatment of the unstable ankle, detailing appropriate exercises for different degrees of instability with different aetiologies.
