5.0 out of 5 stars Nice, complete base to begin your studies., 10 Mar 1998

Elford's style is easy to follow and fun to read. Nice balance of anecdotes and applications. Easy to follow diagrams and well suited to those not looking for track advice. Good, practical advice for the everyday situations. Good value for money.

If you like looking at photos of racing porsches, then fair enough. I didn't learn anything about driving that I didn't know already. Clever marketing, and good quality coffee table book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Treat with caution, 2 Jan 2010

Honestly if you want to learn about high performance driving then check into a trackday and arrange some instruction. It won't cost that much more than this book and it will work and be a whole lot more fun. Trouble with this book is its written to read easy rather than teach and, if you really think you can learn car control from the pages of ANY text then you should not be allowed a permit to drive! An attempt by a mediocre "race driver" to supplement the lack of sponsorship I suspect!
