5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent content and easy to follow., 5 Jul 1998
By A Customer
An excellent book for those new to Embedded Systems concepts. Not really for experienced users but still a good solid reference. This book doesn't assume that you know everything already like most books. By using these ready to use C modules all the user needs to do is to make some minor changes in order to get a project off the ground. Concepts are explained very clearly with no nonsense and without being too simplistic. Topics are interesting. It even utilizes a real time kernel. ( his own but that's OK ) I highly recommend this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent but is it ANSI, 19 May 2000
By mmacneill123@cwcom.net (Menai Bridge, North Wales) - See all my reviews
A great book for the complete novice (like me) who has had to for my current project to move from Windows programming to low-level asynchronous serial port programming.

However, I do wonder if the code is ANSI as some of the really important functions included seem to only be present in the Borland compiler with no obvious equivalents in other C++ compilers.

Also, the *ing E-Mail address doesn't work so I can't query BUT I have just invested in the new book - so it can't be that bad.

In fact, it is very good - any warped individuals who can tell me about getvect(), setvect() and interrupt() equivalents in Microsoft Visual C++, let me know.
