5.0 out of 5 stars One man's search for Kuan Yin, Bodhisattva of Compassion, 30 Jul 1997
By A Customer
This is an excellent book. It traces one man's journey for knowledge of the Bodhisattva Kuan Yin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. This is not a scholarly treatise, but instead a very accessable look at the various names that Kuan Yin is known by in a variety of cultures and the changes of understanding from one culture to the next down through the ages. This is a very sweet book for individuals who are drawn to Kuan Yin by any name.

5.0 out of 5 stars Having borrowed the book from the library, I had to have it, 20 Jan 1999
By A Customer
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I 'met' Kuan Yin through Reiki and meditation and now have an interest in Buddhism generally, but somehow this Lady is special! It was so good to find a book written about her in normal 'laymans' language and it is written by a man who is clearly devoted to her which has helped me immensely on my Spiritual path! All in all, a lovely book for anyone who has a slight interest in Kuan Yin, purely because it is such a pleasure to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kwan Yin Society highly recommends this book!, 8 Jun 1999

This is the classic Kwan Yin book in English.Very interesting historical information. When the author peeks out from behind his scholarly facade, the book really shines.
