This book is an eminently readable and thoughtful study that tries to reflect what really happens in a therapy relationship. Lomas is not afraid to face and explore the 'difficult' areas opened up by an artificial, but intimate, relationship, or the defenses developed by the profession to protect its practionners from that intimacy. It is a must for any counsellor, psychotherapist, or (in an ideal world) any potential client.
