2.0 out of 5 stars Should drop the word 'videogames' from the title, 25 Oct 2009
By M. Taylor (Lancashire, UK) - See all my reviews

As a student researching videogame audio techniques, I bought this with a bunch of other books for my dissertation: unfortunately the information in this book regarding games is sketchy at best. Barely information whatsoever on the 'interactive' side of games and incredibly light on details. Might be good for a starting composer, but anyone wanting an in-depth and accurate look at videogame audio should maybe look at books by Aaron Marks or Alexander Brandon.

Regains a star because I found the constant references to 'Barbies Fashion Designer' most amusing, and because the chapter about looping was surprisingly in-depth. The quality of other non-game chapters was varied
