About the Author
Born on the edge of the Pennines, Barbara Swann has been surrounded by Border Collies all her life, and she has been actively involved with the breed for some forty years. She is a highly respected dog trainer and has been a Kennel Club Obedience judge for many years, as well as awarding Challenge Certificates in the breed. A successful competitor in the Working Trials and Sheepdog Trials, Barbara is much in demand as a judge in this sphere of activity. She is an instructor of sheepdog training and specialises in correcting faults. Barbara has spent some time in the USA and Canada, and has considerable experience of the Border Collie at work and in competition in these countries. She spent some time at a dog training school in Canada and has adopted some of the training programmes for her own dogs. She has been involved in agility competition for many years and was instrumental in introducing flyball to Britain. Barbara was one of the first members of both the Border Collie Club of Great Britain and the Southern Border Collie Club, and she was a founder member of the Midlands Border Collie Club.
