Product Description
Synopsis
If you love fashion dolls, this book is for you! Fourth in a popular series of how-to books, this book gives step-by-step instructions on how to transform both mass-produced 11 -inch fashion dolls and the new larger (15 to 16-inch) contemporary fashion dolls into one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Author Jim Faraone focuses his fourth book on fantasy, fairies, and enchanted creatures and shows readers how to create hairstyles, make-up, and bodies for original designs. This book also features over 250 full-colour photographs showcasing talented artists who have created their own whimsical fashion doll makeovers. This book is not only informative, it is inspiring!

From the Author
About "Fashion Doll Makeovers, Learn from the Artists".
It was a wonderful experience gathering up the artists/designers featured in this book. The extraordinary talents of MiKelman, James Bogue, Paul Crees/Peter Coe, Barb Rausch, Mark Ouellette, Mary Ferretti and 28 others inspired me to create this book. Look into the lives and works of these talented individuals and let the fantasies begin. I hope this book inspires you with its step by step instructions in creating your own fashion doll wonders! Learn to reroot, repaint the faces, do eyelashes, cut, set and style the hair, rebend the body and more. Look for "2nd Fashion Doll Makeovers, Learn from the Artists" featuring 50 artists from around the world, due out the Spring of 1998! There will be another "How To" section to continue your adventures in fashion doll makeovers. If you're a fashion doll makeover artist and are interested in being featured in a future book, feel free to contact me. Let your creative juices flow! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Dissapointed, 29 Oct 2004
By Bobby Martini "Bobby Martini" (The Great British Countryside) - See all my reviews
This has to be one of the most dissapointing purchases I have ever made.

I bought this book based on other reviews on Amazon. I wish I hadn't.

If you are looking at repainting Fashion Dolls and need some tips, this book will not provide you with much help or inspiration. The quality of the pictures is very grainy at times and the actual quality of the work is not as good as many I have seen on the internet.

The actual tips and advice section is in fact a very small section at the back of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and very inspirational!, 23 Jun 2001
By A Customer
This is another excellent book by Jim Faraone. As well as containing more tips on how to make you very own original work of art, it also lists many of today's top doll makeover artists and what inspired them to start making over fashion dolls. Another handy feature are the e-mail addresses in the book, which is great because you can then log on to their sites and view their current work. A great book for anyone who would like to explore the diverse world of the fashion doll (also if your a kid at heart like me!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful place to start!, 11 April 1999
By A Customer
As a novice, I find the book inspiring and informative. Just looking at all the designs by other people and reading about how they got started gets me itching to dig out material for clothes. The instructions on rerooting, repainting, and reposing your doll are concise and well illustrated.
