The review title isn't meant to be degrogatory, its just that the majority of the dicussions in the book are just that - common sense.

Don't let the fact that it is written by the Business School at Harvard scare you - this is not a stuffy academic text book, in fact quite the opposite.

Written in an easy to follow manner this book contains some very good pointers that the IT manager ignores at their peril.

The chapters on outsourcing are especially useful. The case studies detailing "real life" situations add more relevancy to the discussions.

I'd say that this book is best read by those who are in an IT department and are looking to move "up the managerial ladder" or those who want to understand the IT departments position within the company (i.e Your Boss) from a strategic point of view (as the title suggests).
