5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent guide to get the most from your bike, 26 Nov 2000
By A Customer
This book is pure gold. The first section gives some background and some tips on choosing the right bike if you are starting out, which is very sound advice in every area. Then there is a short chapter teaching you how to assess your baseline fitness. The meat of the book comes in the 56 coded training rides, together with suggested combinations which make up 3 week programmes. This is excellent stuff, and will take you through the first steps if you are new to cycling, or will help you to set targets and work towards them if you are wanting to extend the distance of your rides, or just want to ride faster! The authors have worked with professional riders and their experience shines through every page. Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good introduction to effective training methods, 22 Feb 2002
By A Customer
This book is a good introduction to effective training methods for even the most basic of cyclists. If like me, you want something that will help you get stronger and faster on your bike without having to spend all your life training, then this is for you. It encourages a structured approach to training, promoting an intelligent rather than macho approach. However to get best value from this book you probably need to have a heart rate monitor.

This was a Christmas present for my parent. It was in good condition, and my partner was very pleased with it. Prompt delivery and would certainly order from this seller again.
