1.0 out of 5 stars The book from start to finish is a JOKE., 21 Nov 2001

The title in its self would lead you toward a possible connection with Jeet Kune Do.
However because the words above translate into, The way of the intercepting fist, it is possible to plainly see how there cannot be any connection...

5.0 out of 5 stars admirable but flawed, 19 Jan 2001
By A Customer
i bought this book to give me an insight to this style of kickboxing. it starts well with usual blend of "this is a punch" and "this is a bad punch" type pictures. if you have no knowledge martial arts particularly kickboxing it will serve as a good starting point, the worst aspect is the this kick is quicker than a tradtional kick because there are less photos (I am deliberately missing the point but this is the impression that you get). as the book advances you unfortunately start to loose the subtleties, you know the techniques are good but it all seems, well.. vague. I suppose this applies to most books of this kind you can only appriciate what is going on by actually practicing with a real opponent. on the plus side the text is very good but there are other books on JKD that are much more rewarding. if you want to kickbox go out and find a class, you'll never learn to fight by yourself!
