5.0 out of 5 stars This book is great for busy medical students., 16 Mar 2000
By A Customer
This book is quite different from other paediactrics textbooks. It is colourful with plenty of pictures and diagrams and the 'at a glance' boxes are suberb. There is an 'at a glance' box for every major paediatric problem. They provide everything the medical student needs to know about the condition and are expanded in the text. The text is not to wordy and is pared back to the really essential information so the reader does not get bogged down in small print stuff. I can thoroughly recommend this excellent book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Paediatrics And Child Health, 19 May 2006

This is a fantastic core text and I would highly recommend it to medical students and junior doctors alike. It is a well structured detailed book covering all aspects of child health from birth to adolescents. It is beautifully illustrated and has full colour throughout. It is an easy to read book and is easy to understand. It comes with a CD ROM which has clinical examination of the child. Over all a fantastic book which should be a core text in all medical schools.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very readable way to learn all you need to know, 26 April 2006
Paeds is a massive topic and can be very intimidating. This book is reassuringly large, but manages to present the information in a readable, interesting manner. There's a CD Rom explaining examination technique, full colour photos and "at a glance" summary boxes.
The approach taken by the book means you'll want to read it cover to cover, but you could still use it as a reference book if that's the way you prefer to work. It's fairly exhaustive for the undergraduate's requirement.
This is the only good alternative I've found to the Lissaur book - but this one has the bonus of the CD Rom. Well worth checking this out if you want to do well in paeds.
