Notes for the MRCGP is a revision guide for the examination that guides the candidate through all of the perils and pitfalls of this examination. The book is distinctly non–clinical in style because most candidates should have a strong background in this area and the examiners tend to stress the non–clinical areas that now pose most problems to the candidates.
This new edition reflects up–to–date changes to the exam which now includes a move away from negative marking of MCQs with more emphasis given to the video assessment to demonstrate consultation skills. Fundholding is now an important part of being a GP, and along with the role of computers, the ′Health of the Nation′, the ′Patient′s Charter′, and a new complaints procedure it is one of many new areas to receive attention in this edition.
