5.0 out of 5 stars Bangladesh reigns !, 22 Jan 2001
By A Customer
A well written book about a beautiful country, whose world profile has long been overshadowed by its larger neighbours, poverty and natural hazards. This travel book redresses the balance by covering many aspects of life here and gives visitors an insight into diverse topics such as etiquette, history and the natural world. This book is interesting as it has been written by people who have lived in Bangladesh and this, of course, gives them an unique insight into the country, its people and culture. One thing that was missing was an overall map of Dhaka (which could have been in pull-out form). Neverless - well done !

5.0 out of 5 stars Your best friend away from home, 5 May 2004
Lonely Planet is your guide that holds your hand whenever you go to a new country and need some guidance. Especially when you come to a country where you can't speak the language. This guide about the beautiful and very friendly country of Bangladesh is written in a very personal way by the authours and it is so easy to read that is sometimes feels more like a novel, than a guidebook.

The recommendations for hotels, restaurants, busses and things to see and do is very well researched and Lonely Planet has given a balansed and objective recommendation.

If you think about going to Bangladesh, don't hesitat - just go there. Extremely friendly people, beautiful sceneries and hardly no other tourists. Go before it is to late. And take the Lonely Planet Bangladesh guidebook with you. Then you don't walk alone.
