2.0 out of 5 stars Not Great!, 25 Oct 2005
In comparison to the other Lonely Planet guides I have hauled around In my backpack this certainly wasnt one of the best!I always trust Lonely Planet when travelling as they have so many great tips, cool places to go, fantastic maps and really useful information. However I think that the Singapore guide is pretty uninspiring, this edition is very outdated and seems very sparse. This book seems to only inform of the basics, there is nothing in here that you wouldnt find elsewhere which I think gears away from the Lonely Planet philosophy. Its pretty dull and drab and doesnt make Singapore appear to be the exciting, vibrant and colourful place that it is!!!!I found more information from leaflets, maps and magazines that I picked up whilst over there than what was in this book!It is out of date and dont buy this with the illusion that it is going to give you a selection of great places to visit, amazing tucked away restaurants and crazy markets, it just gives you the bare minimum!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great gude to a fantastic place, 1 Sep 2000
By A Customer
Although this edition is beginning to show the need of updating, the LP guide is a great way of highlighting the depth and variety of experiences that Singapore has to offer.
