I got the distinct feeling with this book that we were being treated to a journey around the inside of the author's head rather than around Australia. It was a trip none the worse for all that. Enjoy the ride, but don't believe everything you read.

If you like the off-beat and are interested in Australia then this is definitely a book for you.

Where you find a laugh in this book you do so out-loud and heartily. Unfortunately that only occurs about 4 times so would work out at about £1.50 a laugh. The trip sounded like the journey of a lifetime but having been subjected to Sean Condon's moaning and vain attemps at witty sarcasm I would gladly spend the money on a trip to Melbourne to torture him with every known episode of Telly Tubbies if I didn;thave the frightening feelingthat he might enjoy that. The over-use of the Generation X excuse was grating on the nerves and I began to wish, after the first few pages, that his mate David had been holding the dictaphone as well as the wheel. All that said, I now have a route for a road trip should I ever make to Australia so I guess there is one saving grace.

Not quite as fragmented as 'Drive Thru..', this was an enjoyable first effort by the boy. If you 'get' him then you enjoy his humour. One of my favourite books, currently.
