5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Value for Money!, 15 Aug 1999
By A Customer
As someone who has lived near the River Thames for all of my life and has an affinity with all things water, I became increasingly frustrated as I went to Thames side towns and villages and set out walking. Countless times I managed to walk less than a mile before coming to either threatening no entry signs or simple dead ends.

This fantastic map from GEOprojects shows, for no more than a few coins of the realm, how to walk from the source of the Thames, in the Cotswolds right down to the Thames Barrier in East London. The map plainly shows the Thames Path, with the necessary minor diversions to avoid private property and dead ends and in rare cases come safetly through busy town centres. Along the route pubs and restaurants are marked out and there is occasional reference to other aesthetic and historic points of interest.

Most of us are unlikely to want to walk the full 213 miles on offer. However by taking advantage of the minor roads that are marked on the map, you can start your journey at your chosen place with almost pinpoint accuracy. With a little additional planning in the form of website train timetables, you can take advantage of the stations marked to walk one way and train it back to your start point.

If you're thinking of walking along any part of the Thames buy this map.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I'd Had This Years Ago, 11 Aug 2005
By mvonsaatz (London) - See all my reviews
This is a truly amazing find. If you like walking or live in the Thames valley and feel the need to get away from the rat race, this is the best value way I know of finding those out of the way spots that are probably closer to you than you think. Having spent years searching out old tow paths, deserted jettys and long forgotten patches, this takes away the need to spend half a day looking for somewhere to walk for half an hour.
You don't have to walk the whole route, as this map shows you numerous access points by road/path, relevant train/tube stations and also includes pubs/shops/public toilets so you can enjoy a walk as long as you like without worrying about those "little necessities".
Although seemingly intende for walkers, it also shows boatyards and some moorings and notes if any of the yards do hiring.
This compact and concise, comprehensive and clear little map is excellent value for money and "a must" in my opinion
