5.0 out of 5 stars Chinchilla Mink, Heroin and fine Courvasire !!, 18 May 2001
Vern E. Smith's vision of the dark unforgiving hell, that is 1970's black Detroit, a tale of foul housing tenements wrought with violence and drug riddled angst, sharply mirrored by the fantastically fashionable dealers of this wonderful essay on heroin supply and demand. An incredible spiralling journey with anti-heroes aplenty, this raven black abyss that Jones forces us into is an unrelenting helter skelter of wrong deals and crazy scenes, buy this book put on a hard bitten funk soundtrack and transport yourself into a world we can only wonder and fear at........
