4.0 out of 5 stars A short review of Ray Puxley's 'Cockney Rabbit', 10 Oct 2001
By A Customer
As an outsider to London life, this book has been insightful and particularly funny. The book entails a huge section of cockney rhyming slang translated into 'english', and for easy referrence an 'english' back into cockney rabbit section. This section is very easy to use, although one criticism could be that too many terms have be accepted and even the most ardent eastender would have trouble understanding a chunk of them. Each entry in the rhyming slang to english section is accompanied with a witty explanation from Puxley, giving an idea of london life, or just of his. The book also contains an introduction in the style of a short life story by Puxley, showing more of the author's wit and use of language. Altogether, a fun and interesting book.
