Book Description
This book covers all the important economic theory used in the AS/A level course. As all macroeconomic analysis can be broken down into its microeconomic components and vice versa, these revision notes do not stress the division between macro and micro, but rather concentrate on five integrated areas of study. These are entitled:
Unit 1 An introduction to economics
Unit 2 The industrial structure of the economy
Unit 3 The financial structure of the economy
Unit 4 The economy as a whole
Unit 5 The international structure of the world economy
Each unit is designed to help the student both understand the subject and express that understanding clearly in an examination. It is relatively easy to navigate through the book as each unit is subdivided into headings and subheadings which are weighted to illustrate their relative importance. Each page is split so that the main body of text is separated from a comments column (which is used to highlight important and interesting points) by a bar that suggests whether the content is directly related to the AS or the A2 component of the course. The book is particularly helpful to those students who have completed the AS level and will need to revise both A2 and AS componets in order to deal with the synoptic nature of the full A level.
