5.0 out of 5 stars armed merchant cruiser-HMS JERVIS BAY, 23 Jun 2005
By michael.j.chappell (edenbridge, kent United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Quite the best book so far, and dare i say it ,but an improvement on the hardback version from the U.S.released lastoctober 2004.there are many more pictures, and descriptive diagrams to help the reader understand the battle between HMS JERVIS BAY and the mighty battleship ADMIRAL SCHEER.It also contains for the first time a crew list to help those relatives who think their loved ones were on board but were never quite sure.Ex seaman worldwide will connect with this book. well done to the authors.

3.0 out of 5 stars so far-the best book written about HMS JERVIS BAY, 23 Jun 2005
By michael.j.chappell (edenbridge, kent United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This is a very good edition of the story of the epic battle between the armed merchant cruiser HMS JERVIS BAY and the mighty battleship ADMIRAL SCHEER IN WW2. Dare i say it but this U.K.version is an improvement on the U.S.version released in october last year. it contains far, far more pictures and descripted plans and contains a list of the crew members which will assist those relatives who believe that thier loved ones were on board ,but are still not sure. well done to the authors.
The ex- seaman of the world will connect with this book.

MIKE CHAPPELL
(Son of commander J.H.G.CHAPPELL-Chief engineer
HMS JERVIS BAY )
