5.0 out of 5 stars A Life-changing read, 25 April 2005
By A Customer
I suddenly found myself searching the outer echelons of Amazon to find a method for dealing with what was a bad Jealousy problem.
I found this gem by Dr Windy Dryden and have to say that if you're prepared to put in the time and effort that this is a life changing course of self therapy. It is excellently written, in simple concise terms. And most of all it works.
Don't be put off by the frank and sometimes difficult read to begin with as it develops in to a positive and practical guide to how to overcome your issues. I'd recommend this to anyone.
You find yourself adopting the strategies he discusses, and they get in to your subconscious and help you all the way through every day. It really is the key to a better, more peaceful and happier life. It was the best £6.99 I've ever spent in my life.
If you've got as far as searching for books on the subject you're already on the way to helping yourself, this book is just the next step.

2.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive, not particulary helpful, dry, dull, 21 Sep 2007
By jz (Wantage, Oxon, UK) - See all my reviews
Although this book uses the the reasonably well established method of REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy) as its core, I found its style very dry - it reads like a scientific report. It is also repetitive in the extreme, and will use an extraordinary amount of words when a simple diagram would have illustrated the point much more concisely.

There is some useful stuff in here, but it tends to concentrate on dealing with the symptoms of jealousy, rather than the causes.

I found that reading "deeper" material, (i.e. books about psychology) to be much more helpful. I might politely point the reader toward "The Road Less Travelled" by M. Scott Peck - some other people I know have found "The Successful Self" by Dorothy Rowe to helpful.
