How do you react to situations which don't run according to plan? How do you cope with people who won't do things your way? Do you let life's frustrations build up inside you until you explode with anger? If so, your reactions may backfire and make you ill and unhappy, and prevent you from dealing effectively with the problem. 5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended for anyone who wants to avoid anger.., 8 Mar 2005
By A Customer
This is yet another of Paul Hauck's excellent books. I'd read this one after reading the great "How to be your own best friend". Beyond the catchy titles, the author provides fantastically sound practical advice based on Rational Emotive Behaviour therapy explaining the nature of anger, cost of anger to ourselves and others and why we can all control it if we adopt certain simple but highly effective practices. It has helped me in a very short period of time and I feel confident that I'll be applying the principles in future to avoid getting angry. This is a great book that can actually help anyone who ever gets angry and wishes they hadn't, i.e almost all of us.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very likely, 25 May 2005
I found this book to be of little help (according to the book I should now have counselling) I found it contradictory at times and rather old fashioned in fact I looked to see what the publishing date was. Even though in a perfect world Paul Hauck may be right about even criminals having the right to be wrong and we have to accept it. However, in the real world it doesn't work like that and after all the real world is what we have to deal with on a daily basis.
