Book Description
River Phoenix: A Short Life is the definitive biography of this talented but tragic young star. Brian Robb looks at Phoenix's unusual childhood, his early days on TV and film, and the pressures of stardom that led to his lethal overdose in 1993. His short but incident-packed life is a tale of modern Hollywood.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very factual and interesting biography., 18 Mar 1999
By A Customer
This is an essential biography for any River Pheonix fan. This book explains his life story in interesting detail, from his childhood to his adulthood. From his family, close friends and long term girlfriends you realise what kind of short life this man actually lived. It gives detailed information on all films and T.V programmes he appeared in and played lead roles. the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars * * * * *River Phoenix * * * * *, 14 Jul 2005
This being the first River Phoenix book I bought was very useful as it provided a lot of information about the boy from a very young age to his unforgetable death. As I do not contain the information to notice any mistakes presented in the book i cannot rate it 5*, however, it is a very powerful book that doesn't just talk about River Phoenix's life during films/tv - but expands into all corners of his life. There is a very good number of pictures of the boy taken throughout his life. Very informative and sensitive, i recomend to anyone who wishes to find out more about this astonishing man, (or should I say boy?)...
