Product Description

Product Description

Decoupage means cutting out - and three-dimensional decoupage is the craft of cutting out and layering multiple copies of the same image to make a picture with a 3-D effect. Unlike traditional decoupage, which is stuck down flat to a surface, the idea is to build up the picture, bringing things which appear in the foreground to the top, both fixing and raising them up by using dabs of silicone-sealant between the layers. Pictures can be simple or intricate: one can create a single flower or a whole scene. This step-by-step guide explains how to use a range of source materials such as coloured paper, colour photocopies, rubber stamps, cards, wrapping paper, and commercial sets of prints, to create 3-D pictures. The guide also explains how to protect and display finished work. The equipment required is inexpensive and the only skill needed is that of cutting out, making this craft accessible to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for all skill levels, 25 Nov 2000
By A Customer
I first got into 3d decoupage when a friend wanted me to go to class with her. I went and really enjoyed the class. Through that I obtained this book and have read it from cover to cover. There are good tips from how to look at the picture and decide what to cut out through to framing. The book is well illustrated and with many popular pictures to demonstrate the techniques and depth of pictures. I would highly recommend this book to anybody wishing to learn 3D Decoupage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Book, But........, 10 Oct 2007

As a beginner I was a little disappointed that this book wasn't more comprehensive. Its obvious that the author is very informed about decoupage and I felt that she assumed that the reader was too. Bearing this in mind the book has some great tips and ideas. It's a lovely book but it feels incomplete somehow. I would recommend that this book should be bought alongside a step by step decoupage book if you are a beginner.
