Porsche built their reputation in the 911, a largely handbuilt, rear-engined model, but in order to survive the economics of the 1970s the company needed a model to reach the larger market. The 924 and the 944 were manufactured at the Audi works and were produced to fill this role.

This is a well written book that is probably best described as a technical buyers guide although it does discuss certain workshop procedures in good detail.

I wish I'd had this before making my purchase as I would have been much more aware of what to look for.

The historical information is very useful and interesting. The book is well written which in itself is not suprising as Peter Morgan is an extremely competent author.

I have read many books on the subject of 924 and 944 Porsches, but this one stands high above the rest in that you get the normal,"This model was available from 19xx to 19xx, in these colours". In addition to this you are also given many maintanence tips, along with a laymans description of how the cars systems operate. You will also find chapters for modifying, converting and buying a 924/944/968. This is by far the best book on this subject I have ever seen!!!
