5.0 out of 5 stars Highly useful, up-to-date, clear, 15 Jul 2002
By A Customer
We chartered in North Biscay and used this book extensively between Morbihan and Benodet. All ports had excellent descriptions with clear aerial and approach colour photographs which made easy work of the pilotage. We motored into the Glenan Islands, an area full of submerged rocks, but were able to follow the route easily by having sight and recognition of the leading marks. Excellent description of ports, local conditions and marinas. All fully up to date. The book doesn't have descriptions of local restaurants/cafes which we found in North Brittany pilot, but no matter - there are plenty of places to choose from. Whilst there are few tidal gates on marinas in this area, there are some strong tides (up to 8 knots) which require careful planning. Lots of rocks meant that our charter company employ a diver to checkout the keel on your return. Absolutely required for the English speaking skipper in this interesting coastline.
