I think this is a brilliant book. It really helped us when we bought our house, we knew what to look for, what to ask, the best way to deal with the agencies and owners.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is trying to buy a house, specially to first time buyers.

After renting out my dream home I was dismayed to be told by my landlord he was going to sell (after many assurances he would not when I signed the contract). I considered renting again but decieded I had had enough and wanted to buy.

As a first time buyer I had no idea where to begin and after several day reading every news / magazine article I could find on home buying I felt was ready never to have a home ever again.

Thanks to a friend recommending this book I now feel confident I can buy a home and not get ripped off, conned or gazumped ( well probably not). The information in the book is very clear and well explained.

Both sides of the deal (buying and selling) are compared side by side giving the reader a clear picture of who should do what when.

I have no hesitation in recommendeding this book to everyone who is about to sell or buy.

Even excellent books are no automatic passport to successfully buying, selling or moving home, however I would recommend this book as it is a mine of useful information. Always try to work with an experienced and reliable estate agent from a reputable firm, thoroughly research the market in the area in which you are interested and remember that the property market can go down as well as up.
