4.0 out of 5 stars Examines policy as well as aircraft, 6 Mar 2000
By A Customer
As this book covers both World Wars and postwar developments there clearly cannot be a huge amount of detail about any particular aircraft. However, instead of just providing a detailed list of aircraft, the author has chosen to describe the policies and requirements which the aircraft were designed to meet, then examined how the aircraft met them. This is an interesting approach which provides more understanding of the thinking behind the aircraft designs. Recommended.
