5.0 out of 5 stars Crammed full of useful data and facts, 12 Oct 2000
By A Customer
This book is not a history of the "hows and whys" of U-Boat development. Instead it provides the reader with loads of tables and charts, and a good deal of unusual and well known photographs of the German submarines. It looks at all of the U-Boats ever built, giving details of their class and of of their service history. It also provides some useful maps, showing where the U-Boats operated and when. It is a shame that a book of this type is not illustrated in colour, but then again most of the photos are black and white. The jacket painting is wonderfully atmospheric!
