Product Description
This book could save you from a serious road accident. Too many horse trailer owners think their trailers are so simple that they need no maintenance but anything with moving parts needs regular care, and the safety of you, your horses and other road users depends on it. This guide uses clear, detailed, step-by-step photos to take you through all you need to know to ensure your trailer is safe and roadworthy, from the checks you should make every trip, through simple periodic maintenance tasks every owner can do to service items like greasing wheel bearings and changing brake shoes. You may think the more technical jobs are beyond your abilities but this book will help you make the right decision about what tasks you can do yourself and which ones you choose to leave to a trailer specialist.
From the Author
This book could save your money and your lifeFar too many horse owners think their trailers are so simple they need no maintenance but anything with moving parts needs servicing and lubrication. If you are able to work a spanner, you should be able to do most of the maintenance work a trailer requires. My aim in writing this book was to explain how essential maintenance and servicing tasks are done so that trailer owners can decide what they are able to do themselves and what they need to get an expert to do for them. Safety has been stressed throughout and where tasks are beyond the average owner -- for example, if they require special tools -- that has been clearly stated. Many processes are covered step-by-step with photographs to illustrate each stage. The writing was checked by the technical director of Ifor Williams, Britain's biggest trailer manufacturers, but the processes it covers are applicable to all makes of horse trailer. The same Photoguide series includes mine on Towing Horse Trailers, which is also available from Amazon.
